I strongly encourage the participation of our teachers, principals, directors, DCEs, DCOs and others in the 2008 LEA Convocation, April 24-26, 2008 in Minneapolis, MN. More information on this triennial gathering of Lutheran educators is available at www.lea.org. The worship, sectionals, professional and spiritual growth opportunities, networking and fellowship is first-rate. Over 4,000 Lutheran educational professionals from around the world are expected to attend.

I would like to recommend "Learning from the Best: Growing Greatness in the Christian School" by Gene Frost. It is quick, insightful and fascinating read. Many of the concepts of Jim Collins' "Good to Great" are applied to the ministry of parochial schools. Principals will be receiving a copy of this book at the 2008 English District Principals Conference as we will be further discussing the implications in this work.
