Igniting Christ's Church In Mission
The English District's 160 congregations and ministries are located in 17 states and the Canadian province of Ontario. Membership currently consists of approximately 59,000 baptized members. There are 70 educational ministries ranging from day care through high school.
The English District is one of thirty-five districts of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. Two districts of the Synod are non-geographic, the English District and the SELC District. All other districts are limited to a geographic territory, as Southern Illinois or Texas.
