2 Corinthians 6 - 15
I love giving gifts. Receiving them is cool too, but I really enjoy giving more than getting. I especially like to give gifts that are particularly meaningful. You know, the perfect gift for someone. A gift that really touches their heart.
I love the process of thinking of the perfect gift, finding it or making it, wrapping it, and then watching the person open it. I love the look on their face and knowing that I have really touched them. To me, that is better than receiving a gift.
But I hate having to wait to give it to them. Especially with my wife, when I have the perfect gift for her, I just want to give it to her as soon as I can. But sometimes you have to wait. Like for Christmas, or a birthday, or graduation. You just have to wait to give it.
God is like this too. He loves to give! And He loves to give the perfect gift. God knows exactly what you need, and has it ready to give to you. But you may have to wait. The time just isn’t right yet for you to receive this particular gift.
You may be facing a particularly bad time in your life. You may be uncertain about the future, or have concerns about how situations in your life are going to work out. Or maybe you are feeling empty and in great need of something from God.
Well, He has the perfect gift for you. And he can’t wait to give it to you. But the time just isn’t right yet for you to have it. Yet. But that time is coming. And when it does, you’ll receive it. Nobody gives better than God does! It will be the perfect gift, exactly what you need in your life.
Praise God for his great gifts to you. Always just what you need, and always at the right time!
