Mobile Prayer

Read Ephesians 6:18
>
> In a world of mobile communications of all kinds, I was struck by the idea of "mobile prayer." It emerged during internship, when I found myself regularly driving through my chaplain mentor's neighborhood. I could not stop often, but was determined to pray for her while driving through. At that same time, the CEO of my hospital was facing some personal losses and a huge administrative challenge. I knew that I wouldn't remember to pray for him daily, but I could lift him up to God, each time I passed his office door. When driving past our mission church, prayer for guidance and wisdom for our pastor and congregation leadership was ppropriate. "Mobile prayer" had begun to mushroom. Finally, a fairly obvious case for "mobile prayer" surfaced. Praising God, during my commute, for the changing colors and textures of the His magnificent creation, was a natural. Life was mobile. Prayer became mobile also.

> Lord, teach us to pray right where we are and for all whom we see in need. We praise you for your great love for us and Your entire world. Teach us to share that love daily. In Jesus' holy name, Amen.
